As you organize for the school year, don’t forget about an easy and inexpensive organizing tool: hooks.
Hooks can be used near the door for coats and bags, in the kitchen for lunch bags, in the bedroom for jewelry and sports bags, and in the bathroom for towels.
The addition of hooks helps make it easier for kids to stay organized and tidy. Asking them to put coats on a hanger or put a towel on a towel bar would likely never happen, but well-placed hooks keep it nice and simple.
Work with your child to identify school or extra-curricular items that don’t have a home in their bedroom or that you constantly find on the floor. Together you can decide if a hook would be a good solution and then find the perfect spot. Having your child help with the organization process, will make them feel more in control of their stuff.
Here’s a whole list to consider before you head to the store:
Our go to hook at Freshly Organized is the Command Hooks by
3M. They have a large variety of sizes, colors and shapes. They also have some with stronger strengths for heavier items. And, you can remove them when they are no longer needed.
