What is a Certified Professional Organizer?

Amy is the only active Certified Professional Organizer’s in the state of Nebraska. To become a CPO® , Amy had to met specific minimum standards, proven through examination and client interaction that she possesses a body of knowledge and experience that has been independently verified, and that her knowledge and experience is up to date. The best news is that she is constantly sharing her expertise with the Freshly Organized Team.

What organizing products do I need to purchase before the first appointment?

When we arrive for the first appointment, we will identify what the needs are for each space.  We will then try to repurpose products you already have in your home.  At that point, we will recommend products if needed.

Do I need to clean up before the first appointment?

No.  We prefer to see your space in it’s normal state.  This will give us a good idea of where to start and what needs to be implemented.

Where can I find information on what paper needs to be kept and what can be tossed?

We always send our clients to their accountants and/or lawyers for specific information.  For some general guidelines, H&R Block has published Filing Cabinet Fix-Up: What To Keep and What To Pitch which is a good starting place.

Are you going to tell everyone about my mess?

We have a very strict confidentiality policy.  We do not share details about your space to anyone.

Will pictures of my mess show up on your website, Twitter or facebook page?

We respect our clients privacy and would never post pictures of their spaces.  We encourage our clients to take “before pictures” when we start working to see how much progress has been made over time but those pictures are for their own use.

Can you organize my space while I am not there?

All of our organizing solutions are customized for our clients. We ask lots of questions to identify the needs and current obstacles.  We then brainstorm with the client solutions that would work.  Therefore, we need you there in order to create a system that works for you.

What happens the first visit?

When we arrive for the first appointment, we will start with a tour around the space you want to get organized.  We discuss what is happening, what you want to achieve and then work on an action plan.  We treat all of our clients in a non-judgemental manner and focus on making progress towards their goals.

Where can I donate items?

There are many good charities that can use your unwanted stuff.  We have created a list of Omaha Area Donation Locations to get you started.  Please e-mail us at info@freshlyorganized.com if you would like your charitable organization to be included in this list.

What areas do you serve?

We offer organizing services in the Omaha metro area.  There is a fee for anything requiring additional travel. Coaching, Accountability Partnering and Virtual Organizing sessions are by phone and available to anyone anywhere.

Where can I find a local organizer if I don’t live in the Omaha area?

We can travel where ever you need us, but if that is not in your budget then go to the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) website.  NAPO has directory of professional organizer’s in all corners of the world that can help.
